"Many thanks for setting up such excellent tuition for us." And to the tutor; "Thanks for all your hard work - Whatever the exam result - and I feel confident it will be good - we are very grateful indeed for this."
Petra, Cambridge (GCSE Maths)
Parents choose personal tuition for their children for a number of reasons, some of the most common concerns of which being to raise level of performance/grades at school, to help a child who has temporarily fallen behind to catch up, to learn a subject outside the school environment, or to stretch their child further or give closer attention to the needs of their child than is possible in a classroom environment.
We feel tutoring can offer a number of benefits for your child, including raising levels of school performance, but also helping a child to increase their confidence, enjoyment and motivation in a subject and developing better study skills and discipline that can be applied across a number of subjects.
In order for us to meet these goals:
We receive many applications and to assess these we interview potential tutors face-to-face, ask for copies of ID and proof of qualification and seek at least two references. We also look for tutors who are in it for more than a bit of extra cash and who will be around for a reasonable duration. Our policy on CRB checks is to either process CRBs on behalf of our tutors or where the tutor has been police-checked within the last year, to ask to see the original documentation. If the tutee is an adult we do not normally require a CRB check, but if you think an adult tutee may be vulnerable we are of course happy to oblige.
We charge a small registration fee for the sifting and recommendation process. If we do not recommend a tutor of suitable calibre within 7 days of receiving your registration form and fee this is fully refundable.
Our rates for tuition are industry competitive and available on enquiry. Parents are never under obligation to continue with a tutor they are unhappy with.
Once you have contacted us, we'll review your requirements and come back to you to discuss a potential tutor and lessons.
The tutor will then arrange a time and date with you directly and advise on a lesson plan. We can usually begin tuition within a few days. If during the process you have any queries or comments, please contact us.
